The Sunnyvale Moose Lodge sponsored Kamal Haddad and he won the 3rd place scholarship for $6,000. Two years ago, Kamal also won 3rd place, so he’s beginning college with two scholarships.

There were six finalists from California this year. In addition to Kamal, there were two students from the Monterey Moose Lodge and three other California students. Alejandro Landon, sponsored by the Downey Moose Lodge in Southern California, won 5th place and $4,000. We are very proud of each of them!

The students had a wonderful time at this well-chaperoned event. Besides competing to win scholarships up to $12,000, they also enjoyed traveling, meeting students from many states, visiting new places and enjoying an amusement park in Phoenix.

If you know a motivated student who is interested in participating this fall, please contact Kathy Childs at the Moose 2049 lodge or fill out the feedback form. Only one informational meeting is required and those begin in August at local Moose Lodges. The students parents aren’t required to be Moose Members.
